The OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) is the practical component of the examination conducted offline within Australia. It is a scenario-based assessment.

This section primarily evaluates the candidate's practical skills and assesses their English communication ability. Its purpose is to determine whether the candidate possesses the knowledge, skills, and capabilities required by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board (NMBA). It is equivalent to the clinical internship component of nursing in Australia.

The only examination location in Australia is the AH5 Health Simulation Centre, situated on the campus of the University of Adelaide in South Australia. Candidates will be required to participate in 10 tests, typically scheduled in the morning or afternoon, with a duration of 3-3.5 hours.

Tips: If one does not pass the OSCE exam on the first attempt, they can immediately register for the next available session. However, they may need to wait in line for an available slot. AHPRA currently arranges approximately five OSCE sessions per year, with approximately a two-month interval between each session. Each session can accommodate a maximum of 25 candidates.
